Student Safety Fund

Preamble 

The Student Safety Fund was created to offer students the opportunity to expand the health and safety of all on campus while limiting any financial barrier a student might face. The fund is for Bishop’s and/or SRC initiatives directly related to student health and safety on campus, decided by the committee.

Submission Requirements 

In order to be considered for the Student Safety Fund, you must submit: 

• A detailed and accurate budget depicting your anticipated expenses and revenues, with all numbers reasonably explained and justified 

• A letter of intent describing what your project is, what you hope to achieve, who it will affect, as well as how it relates to student health and/or safety 

• A letter of recommendation from one member of the university (not a student) 

• Any other documentation you feel is relevant 

Stipulations 

• Successful applications will have one year to use the funds requested. Failure to do so will result in the need to return all remaining funds 

• Projects may only apply for funding once 

• This fund cannot be used to retroactively cover costs 

• Funds cannot be used for the purchase of any alcohol or other related substances or dangerous items 

• It is up to the committee’s discretion whether to fund salary or other related expenses 

• Successful applications must submit ALL receipts for expenditures as well as a report at the end of the project/year (whichever comes first) describing the outcome of the project and impact it had on the community 

Application Submissions

Applications should be submitted to the SRC Director of Finance at srcdfo@ubishops.ca and will be considered by the GGC.
