Salary: $17.50/hour
Expected Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Job Summary: The SRC Student Success Manager (SSM) will work on various academic projects, organize and facilitate academic events through the Student Success Centre (SSC) with a focus on student engagement, academic development and EDI (equity, diversity, inclusion) evidence-based practices. The SSM is under the supervision of the Manager of Operations and Services.
Requirements:
- Must be a degree student, in good academic standing at Bishop’s University, enrolled for the 2026-2027 academic year.
- Must be in good standing with Campus Security and Vice-Principal of Student Affairs office.
- Applicants must be willing to place their SRC duties above all other non-academic responsibilities.
- Must be available to work from mid-August, 2026 – April 30, 2027 (possibility of working remotely for part of August)
Nature of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the Student Success Centre
- Provide peer academic coaching to students.
- Work with the Events Manager to plan and carry out academic programming during Orientation Week in the fall and winter
- Supervise peer tutoring and work with the tutoring partners to ensure that Bishop’s students have a positive tutoring experience.
- Coordinate with other student-led initiatives and other student services across campus to create a holistic resource base for students.
- Work with faculty and administration to transmit information and communicate academic services to students.
- Responsible for organizing academic events in collaboration with other University partners, including divisional networking events.
- Provide coordination and logistical support to the teaching awards committee.
- Collaborate with the SRC Communications and Engagement team to ensure that all academic services are properly advertised
- Create and contribute to long-lasting and successful academic projects aimed at the development of the University’s academic profile
Skills Required:
- Applicants should have strong interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills as well as proven initiative and ability to work independently.
- Have an inclusive, open, creative, and innovative mindset
- Strong oral and written communication skills (French written and verbal communication skills are an asset)
- Knowledge of the university’s Academic Calendar and administrative structure.
- Familiarity with emerging trends in educational development and remote collaboration and learning is an asset.
