Job Summary: The Bishop’s University Students’ Representative Council (BUSRC) is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Manager to lead promotional efforts and enhance student engagement. This role involves managing marketing campaigns, overseeing digital media, and ensuring BUSRC events and initiatives are effectively communicated to the student body. The Marketing Manager works under the supervision of the Director of Communications and Engagement to align marketing efforts with BUSRC’s overall communication strategy. Additionally, this position oversees a team of videographers and photographers to ensure high-quality visual content is produced. The Marketing Manager is also responsible for producing The Dish, BUSRC’s official e-newsletter for students.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan to promote BUSRC services, events, and initiatives.
- Maintain brand consistency across all marketing materials and communication channels.
- Oversee and manage BUSRC’s social media accounts, and email newsletters.
- Work closely with the Director of Communications and Engagement to ensure marketing strategies align with BUSRC’s communication goals.
Content Creation & Media Management
- Create engaging digital and print content, including posters, social media graphics, videos, and written copy.
- Oversee the work of videographers and photographers, ensuring content is aligned with BUSRC’s branding and promotional needs.
- Manage media assets, including photo and video libraries, for future marketing use.
- Produce The Dish, BUSRC’s student e-newsletter, including writing, editing, designing, and distributing engaging content that keeps students informed about campus events, resources, and initiatives.
- Plan and implement marketing campaigns tailored to different student demographics.
- Analyze engagement metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
Sponsorship & Revenue Generation
- Develop sponsorship packages that outline partnership opportunities for businesses and organizations.
- Identify potential sponsors and establish relationships with local and national brands.
- Secure sponsorships and funding to support BUSRC events, initiatives, and student services.
- Maintain strong relationships with sponsors, ensuring fulfillment of sponsorship agreements.
- Work with the Director of Communications and Engagement to ensure sponsorship efforts align with BUSRC’s mission and values.
Event Promotion & Collaboration
- Work closely with Events Manager to maximize attendance and participation in BUSRC events.
- Develop partnerships with SRC Extra groups, and external organizations to enhance outreach.
- Coordinate promotional activities, including giveaways and contests
- Develop sponsorship packages and contact potential sponsors.
Leadership & Administration
- Supervise and provide direction to videographers and photographers, ensuring their work aligns with BUSRC’s marketing strategy.
- Allocate resources efficiently within the marketing budget.
- Prepare reports on campaign effectiveness and student engagement insights.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Currently enrolled at Bishop’s University (must be a student for the duration of the contract).
- Experience in marketing, communications, social media management, or graphic design.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with experience in newsletter production preferred.
- Experience in sponsorship acquisition, fundraising, or business development is a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite), and analytics.
- Experience managing team is an asset.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with various BUSRC teams.
- Experience in event promotion and brand management is an asset.
- French language skills are an asset.
Work Conditions:
- Part-time contract, averaging 15 hours per week, allowing for a great deal of flexibility for other spring/summer employment.
- The SRC will assist the successful candidate in securing other employment on campus for the spring and summer, if desired.
- Flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
- Fast-paced, student-focused work environment.

- Some physical work required for event setup and coordination.
