Expected Hours: Approximately 10-12 hours per week
Salary: $18 per hour
Job Summary: The SRC Extra Manager will be responsible for the support services and governing policies that the SRC provides to all social clubs, student associations, and academic societies and will act as the primary SRC liaison with these groups. The SRC Extra Manager is under the supervision of the Manager of Operations and Services.
Requirements:
- Must be a full-time or part-time degree student, in good academic standing, at Bishop’s University, enrolled for the 2026-27 academic year.
- Must be in good standing with Campus Security and the Vice-Principal of Student Affairs office
- Must be present at Bishop’s University from mid-August 2026 – April 30, 2027
- Must be willing to place their SRC duties above all other non-academic responsibilities.
- Available 10 hours per week to meet with students and extracurricular co-leads, as needed
Nature of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivering support services for all social clubs, student associations, philanthropic groups and academic societies.
- Works with the University’s Athletics Department to support sports clubs.
- Responsible for implementing the SRC Extra Handbook and SRC policies affecting SRC Extra Groups, and for reviewing those policies and recommending any changes.
- Organizes and facilitates SRC Extra Orientation at the start of the Fall semester, followed by a second Orientation in the Winter semester for all new SRC groups.
- Organizes other training as may be required.
- Ensures that all SRC Extra leads are adequately trained and respect all SRC and University policies that apply to them, including: the SRC Extra manual and policies, athlete code of conduct, general code of conduct, waivers, insurance requirements, etc.
- Organizes a minimum of one SRC Extra Day per semester (one in the Fall semester for all students and one in the Winter semester for all students), for groups to showcase their activities and recruit members.
- Chairs the Grants and Donations Review Committee as a non-voting member.
- Answer and monitor the SRC Extra email and address questions and concerns promptly.
- Ensures that SRC Extra groups submit reports and other documentation on time.
- Manages the back end of the Bounce platform related to club accounts and events.
- Updates and maintains SRC Extra information on the SRC website, including application forms, reports, etc.
- Collaborates with Gait managers to facilitate club fundraisers.
- Assists groups with the ratification process and evaluate if they are addressing a gap in our campus.
- Works with the Accounting and Administrative Coordinator to maintain an up-to-date record of active and inactive groups and contact information for each.
- Keeps track of changes to group status (inactive/active) and decides which groups are placed on/removed from probation.
- Provides support to SRC Extra groups on all applications/requests (GDRC), applications for external funding, etc.
- Ensures that groups are accessible to interested students.
- Attends meetings and provide feedback and help generate new ideas about SRC Extra groups.
- Assists with booking venues as necessary.
- Manages storage space and all other equipment and space granted to groups by the SRC.
- Acts as steward of the Oasis meeting space, ensuring it is a welcoming space that meets group needs.
Skills Required:
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills (French written and verbal communication skills are an asset).
- Comfortable giving presentations (e., SRC Extra Orientation and training sessions)
- Highly organized
- Demonstrated ability to address conflict.
