The Foreman Art Gallery of Bishop’s University and the
Community ArtLab invite you to the opening of its first exhibition of the
2023-24 programming, “The Milk, the Goats, the Costume Maker, the Bees,
the Honey, the Brass Band”, on Thursday, September 7, from 5pm to 7pm.
Artist Bill Burns will be present, as well as the
curatorial collective of Gentiane Bélanger, Noémie Fortin & Camila Vásquez.
“The Milk, the Goats,
the Costume Maker, the Bees, the Honey, the Brass Band” aims to research
methods of trade and engagement between people and other people, between people
and animals and between people and things. As part of its 2022-23 residency,
ArtLab welcomes Canadian artist Bill Burns, whose year-long research will
culminate in a performance at Fromagerie Les broussailles in Martinville and an
exhibition at the Foreman Art Gallery. The performance and exhibition are the
result of a process of encounters with farmers, musicians, beekeepers, artists,
students and farm animals in the community.
