We are thrilled to invite you to attend the upcoming Congress of Sports Studies, which will take place on April 14, 2023 at 9:30am at the Gait.

This year’s Congress will include a brunch reception, a student opportunities fair, a showcase of student research, and an address from the Chair of the Department of Sports Studies, Dr. Maxime Trempe, who will share insights from recent research.

This year’s Congress will be headlined by a Keynote Address from Dr. Michael Naraine, Associate Professor of Sport Management at Brock University. Dr. Naraine’s primary research is in the area of digital sport management and marketing, examining the strategy, fan engagement, and analytics related to new developments in the sport business landscape (e.g., social media, eSports, blockchain). In 2019, he was named a Research Fellow of the North American Society for Sport Management and, in 2022, he was named the American Marketing Association’s Emerging Scholar for Sport and Sponsorship-Linked Marketing.

Each student attendee will receive a lanyard with their name, pronouns, and program of study (concentration) in order to facilitate communication and introductions.

Registration also includes entry into a draw for several prizes. To be eligible to win a prize, one must register, sign in at the event, and be present at the draw.
