Entre les deux presents the work of artist-student Chloé Larivière, a graduate in Outdoor Intervention from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi and currently studying Fine Arts at Bishop’s University. Focused on observing landscapes and discovering unknown and inaccessible territories as a group, her research explores notions of ecology and friendship. Through her expeditions, she revisits the romantic image of the artist in nature. Notebook in hand, she captures the wonder, grandeur and vulnerability of distant lands. Her work also portrays her friends in sometimes hostile environments, highlighting the instinctive energy of a collective in a context of surpassing oneself.

The Pop-Up display cases, in the hallway beside the Foreman Art Gallery, showcase the creative process behind the artist’s book Entre les deux. Halfway between a photo album and a travel diary, this book presents the artist and her friends during an outdoor expedition in the Yukon, in 2023. Watercolors created on the spot in the wild, studies and documentation of a new adventure are also part of the exhibition.
