Anthony Dumas-Stephenson, President
Hey Gaiters!
Welcome if it’s your first time at Bishop’s — and welcome back if you’re returning! Either way, every one of your voices makes a difference and contributes to the unique, tight-knit community that makes Bishop’s so special.
My name is Anthony Dumas-Stephenson, and I’ll be serving as your SRC President this year. Like those before me, my role is to advocate for your interests — but with the SRC’s new structure, the entire board and I now have more capacity to focus on what really matters: listening directly to students and acting on the issues that matter to you.
I decided to run for President because I saw a rare opportunity — not just to represent students, but to help build systems that make advocacy easier, information clearer, and involvement more accessible for every Gaiter. Whether you’re trying to join a club, find a job, or just have your voice heard, I want to make that process simple and welcoming.
I’m currently a third-year biology student with a concentration in health sciences and a minor in business administration. Before taking on this role, I spent two years as a Residence Assistant, where I had the chance to connect with students across all corners of our community — from welcoming first-years to celebrating with grads, and everything in between.
As we open this new chapter, I’m excited to get to know more of you, support your ideas, and make sure our union reflects the diverse needs and goals of our student body.
My office is located in MOU 018, in the SUB basement below the Purple Pod. You can always reach me at srcpres@ubishops.ca — or just stop me on campus for a chat.
Let’s make it a year to remember.
– Anthony
