Hi! I’m Sonoma, your Humanities Senator from Squamish, BC! I’m a first-year student pursuing a Classical Music Major and the Musical Theatre Concentration. I am loving my Bishop’s experience! The community is so welcoming. This year, I’ve built connections as a member of the BU Competitive Dance / Pom Team, BU Music Society, BU Drama Department, and through my on-campus job as an Online Learning Technology Consultant. I’m most excited about performing in the 2023 Fashion Show and in the spring production of The Drowsy Chaperone! My focus is on creating a sense of belonging. I intend to amplify the voices of others so that everyone feels safe and represented. Humanities students are uniquely positioned to collaborate to tell stories through our interconnected disciplines. As a member of the Senate, I commit to being accessible, transparent, collaborative, and accountable. Please feel free to reach out: [email protected] I’d love to hear your feedback and ideas! I’m here to represent your interests. As Audrey Hepburn once said, “It’s that wonderful old-fashioned idea that others come first and you come second…Others matter more than you do, so don’t fuss, dear; get on with it.” Be heard. Be well. Belong.
