Hey Gaiters!
My name is Melissa, and I am delighted to be your Environmental Sustainability Representative for this year.
I’m a fourth-year student from Switzerland, finishing my Bachelor’s in Sociology with a concentration in criminology, social policy, and law in the Honours program. I also have a minor in psychology and will complete my minor in geography next semester.
Sustainability has always been a core value of mine, both on and off campus. Last year, I served as a Clean Community Team Member, and this will be my second year as a content creator for BU Outdoors. I also tend a plot in the Bishop’s Community Garden. These experiences have allowed me to engage in hands-on environmental efforts and raise awareness about the importance of sustainability in our community.
As your Environmental Sustainability Representative, I’m here to act as a resource for all things green! Whether you have ideas for campus-wide initiatives, need guidance on sustainable practices, or want to get involved in eco-friendly events, I’m here to help.
Aside from sustainability, I am a pretty active person on campus; I am the Communications Manager for the BURJ, I hold two executive positions for the Alpha Phi fraternity, and I am a research assistant and a teacher assistant in the Department of Sociology.
Feel free to reach out to me by email—I’m friendly and quick to respond 🙂
