Hi! My name is Taliah Dumas Stephenson, a second year of pre-clinical psychology and drama student who is serving as a Director on the SRC Board of Student Representatives. I’m so excited for this opportunity and the work to come this year! What drew me to the SRC was its efforts in creating a welcoming community that I noticed the moment I came to Bishop’s. I want to help make that sense of connection more accessible to all students by amplifying student voices, strengthening representation, and reducing the barriers that can prevent students from connecting with their peers and getting involved to the extent they want. All my involvement at Bishop’s so far has been with the goal of understanding as much as I can about the systems and departments that are here and meeting as many people as possible because I really like people! I have done this by working at Doolittle’s Co-Op, Centennial Theatre, and continuing my work in visual art and theater, and this year I will be starting work as a Student Ambassador as part of the recruitment office.
I am looking forward to sharing what I know from these experiences with the SRC and supporting representation and meaningful change by listening to what you have to share! If you see me around, say hi! I’m super happy to meet you and answer any questions I can!
