Hi Gaiters!! My name is Olivia Woods (she/her) , and I am one of your General Councilors (there are two of us!) for the 22-23 school year. I am a second-year student majoring in applied psychology. I grew up in Victoria, Vancouver Island on the traditional territories of the Songhees Nations, more specifically the territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees people.
Last year I was a part of the SRC as the First-Year Representative. I learned so much about the SRC and Bishop’s and I was very fortunate to get to meet and talk with so many amazing students. I am so excited to have the chance to continue the work I love on our campus this year. I am committed to helping make sure that every student has an opportunity to voice their comments, ideas, concerns, and questions. Some of the main issues I am going to focus on this year are sexual violence in our community, communication and increasing SRC involvement.
Making sure I can accurately represent students is another huge part of my role as well, you can always reach out to me over email at [email protected] or come to my student engagement hours, Monday mornings in the SUB. I would love to answer any questions you have about campus or the SRC and am here if you need any support connecting with different resources on campus.
