Hi! My name is Mikael-Benedict Worku (but better known as Mickey). I am a third year
International Studies Major working towards a minor in Film Studies. I’m an Ottawa native! My time at Bishop’s has meant so much to me and my growth as an individual. It has been a roller coaster and I’m excited for the rest of my time here as in store for me!
Starting my journey here at Bishop’s in the middle of a global pandemic didn’t exactly help me in terms of getting involved in our community. Despite of a few hiccups along the way, I’ve been able to play basketball at a varsity level, be a part of different clubs/committees (i.e. the
Anti-Racism and Discrimination Committee, Model United Nations, etc.) and serve you through the SRC! As chair, I hope to be a fair and just chairperson while carrying out its responsibilities in a way that best reflects the values of the SRC.
